Summary

The Area of Consideration for this vacancy announcement is Open to Public. (Military Spouse Preference (MSP/SEP) and Involuntarily Separated Military Preference (ISMP) eligible candidates are included in the area of consideration.)

This position is located at the Detroit Arsenal in the Post Restaurant Office. There are 2 main Cafeterias located at the Arsenal.

Responsibilities

Performs a full range of simple cooking by preparing and cooking items that require little or no processing.

Prepares food by peeling, chopping, grinding, paring, cutting, slicing, dicing, pureeing, dredging, flouring or breading.

Operates a variety of kitchen equipment using all heat sources.

Follows established sanitation procedures when handling food.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Serv-Safe Certification within 30 days of hire.

2. The ability to obtain and maintain a Serv-Safe Certificate within 30 days of hire.

2. Satisfactory completion of a minimum of 4 hours initial food sanitation and safety training is required within 30 days of employment and a minimum of 4 hours refresher training annually.

3. Satisfactory completion of pre-employment background checks in accordance with AR 215-3, 2-5j(1). to include a medical examination.

4. Incumbent may be required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Command Access Card for physical access to federally-controlled facilities.

Qualifications

1.Work experience in preparing foods and cooking simple foods and short orders in a cafeteria, restaurant, or mess.

2.Demonstration of the following work behavior is desirable:

a. Neatness and good grooming.

b. Dependability

c. Ability to work under pressure.

Education

There is no education requirement for this position. If you choose to use education as a substitution for experience, then you NEED to submit your transcripts.
