This National Guard position is for a Electronics Mechanic, Position Description Number D1205000 and is part of the NJ CSMS 1, National Guard.

PRE-PLACEMENT PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: A pre-placement physical will be required for anyone selected for this position. Placement into the position will not be made until results are received.

NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.

As a Electronics Mechanic, WG-2604-11, you will:

Perform functional tests, analyzes performance malfunctions, and repairs

Remove and replace defective electrical, electronic, and mechanical components

Use special and common hand tools, power tools, and gauges to make intricate repairs

Administrative functions in establishing and maintaining maintenance records on equipment maintained

Travel Required

Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel for this position.

Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership. Participation in direct deposit is mandatory

May be required to successfully complete a probationary period

Selectee has two (2) years to obtain required MOS


GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Skill in reading schematics

Common testing procedures

?Electrical or electronic theory

Use of hand tools of the electronics trade

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have 18 months of the following Specialized Experience: Interpret technical manuals, specifications, and publications

Complex test equipment such as deviation meters, complex special test panels

Mechanical repairs that required the use of precision measuring and calibrating equipment

Utilizing principles, basic functions and application of theory of electronic systems or equipment

Diagnose problems and determining needed repairs for malfunctions in electronic equipment or systems
