The Joint Staff assists the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff in accomplishing his responsibilities for: the unified strategic direction of the combatant forces; their operation under unified command; and for their integration into an efficient team of land, naval, and air forces. The Joint Staff is composed of approximately equal numbers of officers from the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, and Air Force.

As a Data Integration Analyst at the GS-0301-12/13 some of your typical work assignments may include:
-Leading and participating in specialized, collaborative working groups established for this purpose within the consolidated Bold Quest planning group.
-Constructs or monitors the construction of various evaluation instruments such as questionnaires or written tests which measure declarative knowledge or changes in application of situational judgment.
-Performs the collection, storage and dissemination of Bold Quest classified and unclassified data to coalition partners using Foreign Disclosure procedures, International Data Exchange Agreements, Delegation of Disclosure Authority Letter (DDL)
-Monitors daily completion, keeping Joint Staff management informed of status and necessary corrective action to ensure completeness and accuracy.
-Documents and supports development of machine-to-machine and human interactions that drive data collection planning and execution.
-Provides guidance on International Traffic in Arms Regulation (ITAR) policy relative to Bold Quest planning and execution.
-Develops and supports development of data collection and analysis plans directly traceable to partner Nations and Services assessment objectives.
-Prepares all documentation associated with HRPP review, approval and implementation in each Bold Quest demonstration.

A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service:
- Experience gained as a participant in joint or multinational military capability development; specifically, testing and experimentation activities;
- Designing testing and implementation of joint and coalition networks;
- Applying US governmental polices regulating the collection, disclosure and release of defense information;
- Developing and implementing data collection plans and individual evaluation instruments (surveys);
- Collecting, merging and archiving of data to inform future military capability development and acquisition.
You may qualify at the GS-13, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
B. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service:
- Experience gained as a participant or group leader in joint or multinational military capability development; specifically, testing and experimentation activities.;
- Designing, testing and implementation of joint and coalition networks along NATO Federated Mission Networking lines; the application of US governmental polices regulating the collection, disclosure and release of defense information including the development and application of Delegation of Authority Letters (DDL);
- Developing and implementing data collection plans and individual evaluation instruments (surveys) including the review and approval processes mandated under current Human Research Protection Program protocols;
- Collecting, merging and archiving of data, including the design of relational databases, to inform future military capability development and acquisition.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.

The OSD/JS FOIA Requester Service Center supports all actions related to Freedom of Information requests submitted by the public for access to records under the control of the Offices of the Secretary of Defense and Joint Staff. The Center is divided into three specific branches: the Initial Processing Branch; the Appeals, Policy, and Litigation Branch; and the Program Management Branch (see organizational chart (PPT | 358 KB)). The Initial Processing Branch is divided into three teams: Team B - Fast Track Requests and Mid-Term Complex Requests; Team C-Highly Complex Requests and Special Project Cases; and Team D-Legacy Cases (backlog cases and requests for older records). The Appeals, Policy, and Litigation Branch, consists of a Chief and three action officers. All administrative support is provided by the Program Management Branch.
