The Currency Technology Office (CTO) has an immediate opening for an Technical Process Trainer.  This position can be filled at an Intermediate or Senior level: all applicants will be considered for all levels simultaneously. 

The Technical Process Trainer delivers technical training for Cash Operations staff on the high-speed currency processing system. Collaborates with peers and SMEs to design, develop, and maintain training courses and supplemental materials. Helps to ensure that processes and procedures support CTO learning objectives and deliverables.  Evaluates training offerings and identifies opportunities for continuous improvement.    Creates and edits technical documentation, including reviews of and updates to the training manual for the high-speed currency processing equipment, course materials, handouts and other learning aids.  Assists in marketing course offerings.  Ensures training materials and other technical documents are accurate and effective.  Participates in delivery of annual conference for Cash officers and managers.  Reports to the Technical and Process Supervisor/ Manager.Facilitates customer briefings on new technologies and implementation strategies.  Performs site analysis for problems pertaining to high-speed currency processing equipment systems.  Tests hardware and software releases for high-speed currency processing equipment to ensure functionality and accuracy.  Serves as subject matter expert regarding high-speed processing equipment and processes and provides customer support via telephone and/or in person, including occasional after hours on-call support.

***The hiring range for position Technical Process Trainer Intermediate $62,600-$78,300 annually

*** The hiring range for position Technical Process Trainer Senior $77,800-$97,300 annually

*** May require some extended work hours or overtime (up to 2 days per month, or 10%) and overnight travel (up to 5 days per month, or 25%).

Essential Job Responsibilities (including but not limited to the following)

·         Designs, develops, maintains, and delivers specialized training courses (classroom and online) on high-speed currency processing equipment and operational practices to Cash Operations personnel.

·         Helps ensure that processes and procedures support CTO learning objectives and deliverables by accurately editing written materials, such as user guides and class handouts, to identify and resolve incorrect information; and to correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, and syntax.

·         Reviews and updates high-speed currency processing system training manual, course materials, handouts, and other learning aids.

·         Designs, develops, maintains, and publishes online courses on high-speed currency processing equipment and operational practices to Cash Operations personnel.

·         Produces results while working independently or as a member of a team in the development of training materials; accepting directions and constructive feedback; establishing and maintaining positive professional relationships; communicating effectively and working cooperatively with customers, peers, vendors, supervisors and technical subject matter experts to ensure accuracy of learning materials.

·         Conducts learning needs assessments and develops plans and curricula to meet needs.  Ensures all learning materials are accurate, meet learning objectives, and reflect a professional look and feel.

·         Reviews and evaluates metrics and feedback (e.g., surveys, interviews) to assess the effectiveness of training programs and identifies opportunities for continuous improvement.

·         Proactively offers recommendations to improve processes and procedures.

·         Contributes to marketing communications and documentation deliverables for training services.

·         Facilitates customer briefings on new technologies and implementation strategies.

·         Performs site analysis for problems pertaining to high-speed currency processing equipment systems, including performing onsite operational or maintenance reviews.  Documents results and recommends actions to bring the office or equipment in line with expected performance standards.

·         Provides customer support for processing issues, occasionally after hours.  Escalates issues appropriately.

·         Tests hardware and software releases for high-speed currency processing equipment to ensure functionality and accuracy.

·         Participates in the delivery of the Currency Technology Office’s Annual Management conference.

·         Functions effectively in a complex and sometimes rapidly evolving environment.

Technical Process Trainer Intermediate Requirements

Education & Experience:

·         Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or 5 years of Cash Operations Experience is highly desired

·         The incumbent should have the following:

o   2 - 5 years of experience in a Customer Service/Technical Training setting

o   Demonstrated experience in performing moderately complex analyses

o   Experience working effectively as part of a team

Knowledge & Skills:

·         Required knowledge includes the following:

o   Understanding of instructional design concepts and how to apply them to adult learners

o   Understanding of project management methodology

o   High level of PC literacy to include software for presentations, word processing, eLearning, data analysis and  project management

·         Required skills include the following:

o   Strong aptitude for working with computer-controlled, electro-mechanical equipment.

o   Excellent oral and written communication skills effective for interacting at all levels of Bank staff and management

o   Strong written and verbal communication

o   Strong customer service orientation

o   Ability to effectively communicate complex technical information to technical and nontechnical audiences

o   Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple and changing priorities

o   Solid planning and problem solving skills

Technical Process Trainer Senior Requirements

Education & Experience:

·         Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. 

·         The incumbent should have the following:

o   5 - 7 years of experience in Customer Service/Technical Training setting

o   Demonstrated experience in performing complex analyses

o   Experience in working effectively as part of a team

Knowledge & Skills:

·         Required knowledge includes the following:

o   Knowledge of instructional design concepts and how to apply them to adult learners

o   Knowledge of project management methodology

o   Working knowledge of the high-speed currency processing equipment or demonstrated aptitude for working with computer-controlled, electro-mechanical equipment.

o   High level of PC literacy to include software for presentations, word processing, eLearning, data analysis and  project management

·         Required skills include the following: 

o   Excellent oral and written communication skills effective for interacting at all levels of Bank staff and management Strong customer service orientation

o   Proactively seeks knowledge of current trends and developments in training
