Summary

As a Supervisory Building Manager, you will:

Serve as the senior technical advisor in the area of facilities, operations, and management by providing advice and assistance to management and program officials with regard to policies, regulations, space allocations and arrangements, emergency, repair, maintenance and general facilities and building operations.

Be responsible for planning, management, coordination, and direction of the operation and maintenance ofapproximately 2,500,000 or more, adjusted square feet, of GSA-operated space in Federal Buildings.

Location of Position: Office of Facilities Management, Triangle Service Center, Silver Spring, MD

The Office of Facilities Management responsible for providing facilities related solutions and services to Federal tenants located in over 8500 owned and leased workspaces across the nation. Responsibilities

As a Building Manager you will:

Advises tenant agencies on the development of plans, specifications, statements of work and construction drawings for projects proposed. Provides information and advise, including authoritative interpretation of GSA policies and procedures relating to construction and buildings maintenance policies. Administers contracts, such as, operation and maintenance of buildings systems, elevator maintenance, custodial operations, trash and debris removal, paper recycle of high grade white paper, newspaper, and cans etc. Settles disputes between and among tenant agencies relative to proposed or ongoing projects, such as, where one agency's re-configuration of space plans affects the continuous use of space of another agency. Supervises on-site subordinates, Building Managers, professional and/or technical staff members, office automation administrative/clerical staff members and works with the custodial and mechanical supervisors.

The GS-13 salary range starts at $96,970 per year.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:

In addition to the Basic Requirements listed above, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 in the Federal service. Specialized experience is supervising or leading the operation and maintenance activities of large office buildings or large office complexes with heating and refrigeration plant systems including implementing programs and techniques for sustaining generation of steam, chilled water and cogenerated electricity; improving tenant agency satisfaction with building services; and negotiating and/or administering service contracts and lease provisions.
