Under administrative direction, reviews budgets, contracts, and grants for Nebraska State Patrol federally funded projects. 

Hours: 8-5, Monday - Friday.

Job location is 1600 Highway 2
Examples of Work
Work with management staff to develop and administer policies and procedures related to grants. Provides technical direction in preparation of all grant documents and reports to insure federal compliance. Coordinate with Accounting Division to ensure proper financial management and the allocation of costs of various diverse and complex accounts. Ensure integrity of data & conformance with Government Acceptable Accounting Procedures. Control, allocate and audit agency funds including analysis of data to be utilized in financial transactions. Consult and advise on allocation basis and methodologies. Review allocation process and make ongoing improvements where needed for the costing and distribution of all agency costs and expenses. Conduct grant audits; work with grantees on exceptions to implement corrections. Communicate and train staff. Monitor all expenditures of funds so proper controls are maintained in accordance with grant award. Develop methods and procedures to assure proper maintenance of all accounting and financial records of the division. Supervision of professional and support staff who are responsible for grant monitoring, processing, and records management. 
Qualifications / Requirements
REQUIREMENTS:  Bachelors degree in grants management, business administration, public administration, accounting, budgeting OR a related fiscal field, and four years experience in grant management, contract administration, accounting, budgeting OR other fiscal related areas of work. Additional years of experience in the areas listed may substitute for the required education, on a year-for-year basis.

PREFERRED: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Masters' degree in accounting or finance; special certifications (i.e. Management Certificate, Grant Administration, etc.)

Valid driver's license is required or ability to provide independent authorized transportation. KNOWLEDGE OF: grants and contracts processing and monitoring; accounting principles, practices, methods, and procedures; budgeting procedures; computer capabilities and applications; state and federal statutes and legislation regarding aid administration; agency and state fiscal policies; the State Accounting System. ABILITY TO: work under pressure; to meet deadlines; analyze financial transactions; work independently, with little supervision; work effectively with staff in other divisions and agencies; complete accurate reports. SKILL IN: quantitative and analytical review; planning and organizing; decision-making; effective communication.
