This position is located in the Office of Management (OM), Asset Forfeiture and Seized Property Division (AFSPD), in Washington, DC.
As an Administrative Officer, incumbent is responsible for oversight and management of the ATF AFSPD program, which involves the seizure, management and disposal of forfeited properties. The incumbent provides a variety of complex administrative and management services that are essential to the direction of the division.

Designs and maintains systems for various Division-wide administrative functions that require monitoring by the Division Chief; including, but not limited to, personnel actions, position descriptions and performance work plans, awards, property, space management, security issues, administrative files, internal controls, health improvement program, work schedules and training.
The incumbent is responsible for managing the operating budget of the Division, ensuring that funds are expended within the authority of the Division’s allocation. Reviews spending documents for approval/disapproval and prepares necessary status reports for the Division Chief.
Performs a wide variety of analytical studies and conducts research projects related to improving the effectiveness and efficiency of AF&SPD operations. Incumbent prepares reports and finding that include identification of problems and proposed recommendations for resolution and improvement. Independently presents detailed observations, findings, and recommendations to management.
Evaluates and analyzes proposed and actual changes to operating programs for potential impact and operating problems. Performs long-range forecasting for assigned programs; projects future requirements in addition to potential problems and assists in formulating planned initiatives and procedures.
Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progresses.
