Our client, a well-established and beloved Community Bank headquartered in Seneca Falls, NY is seeking an AVP/ Business Development Manager for their growing Commercial Lending department. The Business Development Manager reports to the VP of Lending who has an excellent reputation and is well established in the community. This goal for the successful BDM is to grow profitable commercial lending relationships with current and prospective clients while developing strong internal relationships with the bank's retail office locations and Business Development officers.
IF YOU HAVE 5+ YEARS' EXPERIENCE IN BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT FOR A COMMERCIAL LENDING ORGANIZATION, A SOLID BOOK OF BUSINESS AND TRACK RECORD OF SUCCESS WORKING IN THE ROCHESTER OR FINGERLAKES REGION, THIS IS AN EXCELLENT MOVE TO A SMALL, LOCAL COMMUNITY BANK WHO IS GROWING THEIR COMMERCIAL PORTFOLIO, MAKES FAST LENDING DECISIONS, IS FLEXIBLE AND WORKS WITH BUSINESSES AND CONSUMERS IN THE COMMUNITY TO MAKE IT HAPPEN FOR THEM! Create and maintain profitable relationships with local centers of influence including Accountants and Attorneys through active networking and cold calling efforts
Work closely with internal supporting partners including Office Managers, Bus Dev Officers, Personal Bankers, etc by participating in key events and initiatives such as joint client visits, community events and training classes
Actively enhance the financial relationships with commercial clients by cross-selling within the bank's other agencies and services
Actively participate in the commercial application process from start to finish
Regularly and timely communication with the underwriting department as well as with the client during sales process
Assist in employee development with office managers and other team members through communication, education and coaching of the lending process and expectations for the clients to receive the highest level of customer satisfaction
Accountability for minimizing portfolio losses through strong adherence to policy
Provide regular and timely communication with clients to ensure their needs are met and be proactive with any issues that may arise
Review internal reporting and analysis to ensure up-to-date knowledge of portfolio performance and pipeline activities
5+ years' experience Business Development with a current portfolio in Commercial Lending with a local financial instituation in the Rochester or Fingerlakes region
Proven track record of success meeting or exceeding goals and objectives
Knowledge of SBA lending
Formal bank credit training preferred
College degree preferred
Excellent customer relationship skills - professional, timely and driven to high customer satisfaction experience
Highly organized with strong ability to multi-task
Srong analytical and problem solving skills
Capable of having sound judgment and excellent decision-making skills
Strong proficiency in technical skills for corporate internal systems as well as MS Office, Social Media and internet
