The U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of South Carolina is recruiting for a Legal Administrative Specialist position located in the Columbia, South Carolina Office.

If you are selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for providing technical advice to litigation teams on legal automation requirements and systems capabilities to facilitate litigation decisions, trial preparation and trial presentation. Typical work assignments will include:
*Assisting and/or training attorneys and legal support staff in organizing voluminous case information for efficient retrieval through automated means such as scanning, indexing, etc.
*Meeting with attorneys and agents in an effort to ensure compliance with disclosure obligations in both civil and criminal cases.
*Preparing computerized trial presentation programs; proficient in utilizing discovery presentation software such as iPro Eclipse; iPro eScanit; Concordance; Adobe Acrobat; Microsoft Excel; Microsoft Access; Microsoft Powerpoint; CaseMap; Camtasia; and Trial Director, etc.
*Providing a variety of legal assistance and technical work requiring a specialized knowledge of processes, procedures, and practices to support legal activities.
*Managing and operating a variety of computer hardware such as printers, plotters, audio-visual devices, and other state-of-the-art equipment.
*Assuring computers and other electronic equipment is in place in courtrooms, grand jury sessions and office presentations.
*Coordinating trial presentations by organizing trial exhibits and running trial presentation software.
Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progresses.

The United States Attorneys serve as the nation's principal litigators under the direction of the Attorney General. There are 93 United States Attorneys stationed throughout the United States, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, Guam, and the Northern Mariana Islands.
