Summary

The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) is a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) agency. DLA provides worldwide logistics support for the missions of the Military Departments and the Unified Combatant Commands under conditions of peace and war. It also provides logistics support to other DoD Components and certain Federal agencies, foreign governments, international organizations, and others as authorized.

Responsibilities

DUTIES: As a Logistics Data Analyst, you will be responsible for the following duties:

Serves as advisor and subject matter expert (SME) on Logistics Information Services Provisioning Support

Makes expert recommendations that impact provisioning and cataloging data within the Federal Catalog System and military services legacy systems

Evaluates and distributes project lead responsibilities based on team member expertise, resource availability, and project priority

Builds and maintains relationships with Military Service Provisioning personnel

Serves as Provisioning Support Project Lead and completes all relevant duties when necessary

Attends Provisioning events to include: Start of Work (SOW) conferences, guidance conferences, provisioning conferences, In Process Review (IPR) meetings, and informational site visits as a DLA representative and SME.

Qualifications

To qualify for a Logistics Data Analyst, your qualifications must include:

A. Specialized Experience: Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level. Examples of specialized experience are identified in the Major Duties section of this vacancy announcement and may also include:

Experience planning and implementing provisioning projects, resolving project conflicts, coordinating the work of others as necessary and interpreting policy in terms of established provisioning project objectives.

Experience in researching and analyzing and reporting on all issues related to provisioning, cataloging, and life cycle management.

Experience as a technical expert for the purpose of analyzing and developing innovative solutions for the implementation of provisioning and cataloging support requirements in existing cataloging data systems

B. Education: Applicants may not qualify for this position based on education in lieu of specialized experience.

Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency (knowledge, skills and abilities) in the following areas:

Knowledge of Federal Logistics Information Systems policies, procedures and logistics data management tools

Knowledge of Military Services provisioning processes from a Federal Cataloging Systems perspective

Ability to identify and evaluate existing or potential problems and recommend solutions.

Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
