Summary

Indian Affairs provides services to 567 federally recognized tribes with a population of about 1.9 million American Indian and Alaska Natives. Indian Affairs offers an extensive range of programs such as social services, law enforcement and detention services, administration of tribal courts, natural resources management, economic development, implementation of land and water claim settlements, housing improvement, disaster relief, and the replacement and maintenance of schools, roads, and bridges.

Preference in filling vacancies is given to qualified Indian candidates in accordance with the Indian Reorganization Act of 1934 (Title 25, USC, Section 472). Verification Form BIA-4432 must be submitted with the application if claiming Indian Preference. Responsibilities

As a Program Support Assistant ,GS - 0303 - 7, your typical work assignments and/or responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:

Performs technical and administrative support to the Irrigation branch for all procedural aspects of capturing and reporting intake and costs.

Reviews daily transaction payments to all entities, identifies errors and verifies accuracy of budget accounts charged for goods and services purchased.

Monitoring fund sub-allocations to the program levels relating to engineering, design and constructions functions, analyzing daily budget reports in relation to the program functions.

Design and organizes the records tracking system, and maintaining files in accordance with established policies and regulations.

Reviews monthly undelivered orders budget report and researches undelivered orders to be de-obligated so that funds can be returned to accounts to expend.

The full performance level of this position is GS-7.

TELEWORK: Indian Affairs has determined that the duties of the position are not suitable for telework under any circumstances.

Specialized Experience GS-07: Experience that included, working in a program or department that involved reviewing incoming and outgoing data that also involved reviewing budget accounts for accuracy, assembling and calculating invoices, collecting financial data for program purchases, verifying accounts of reports and expenditures, obligations and available balances and consolidating information received and reviewed. Analyzing a daily budget for a program including salaries, travel, communication training, utilities, supplies and materials, providing administrative support in a high impact environment, ability to submit accurate and efficient reports to Program Manager for timely reporting. Operating various computer equipment and software in the conduct of operations in an administrative support capacity.
