Job Summary:Provides collaborative or consultative work of varying complexity in areas of technology related strategic direction and support, problem resolution, and translating and executing business requirements for assigned IT business areas. Directs methodologies and measures to ensure appropriate processes and procedures are effective and meet IT standards. Coordinates, plans and executes solutions to meet needs of clients, work teams and/or internal or external organization management groups. May collaborate and/or coordinate with cross functional teams. Experienced level position requires developing career in field and gaining knowledge of industry practices. Requires moderate level of experience and proficiency in field.The Advisor is knowledgeable in end to end application performance monitoring with a high degree of analytical skills with the ability to identify existing and forecast performance bottlenecks, and who individually, or by leading subject matter teams, provides resolution to immediate and long term problems.A key responsibility of the Advisor is to work collaboratively with application and infrastructure groups analyzing performance of systems and recommending needed changes to application engineers and infrastructure engineers. The individual will create and provide briefings to team members, middle management, application development teams and business owners regarding near term performance issues as well as long term performance process and plans.*Principal Duties and Responsibilities:* Accountable for the prevention and resolution of immediate and longer term performance issues with .NET, Java and COTS applications in on-premises or Cloud (AWS and Azure). This includes the complete analysis of perceived performance problems carried through to the quantifiable identification of the root-cause in a multi-tiered environment.* Works with the extended teams to optimize system infrastructure and tune OS, platforms, databases to support targeted application performance goals and objectives by leveraging tools such as Dynatrace, AppDynamics, Netscout, Splunk etc. * Proactively produces and analyzes performance reports, incidents, threshold warnings and crossings and produce and follow through on recommendations for change.* Communicates with and influences personnel from a wide range of backgrounds, which may include: engineering, software development, operational and tools support, and business partners.* Facilitates the effective communications with middle to senior management regarding current issues and long term approaches and plans.* Navigates through ambiguities and flexible to multi-task changing priorities.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:1) Provides consulting services to clients in order to evaluate, recommend, design and implement technical solutions and process improvements in areas related to information technology.2) Identifies client requirements by establishing personal rapport with all clients and internal/external resources to understand business and technology requirements. 3) Develops knowledge of supported client areas and builds relationships by assessing, evaluating and fully understanding the needs and requirements of clients.4) Reviews data and assists in advising clients on best practices and how to implement the necessary changes to address their business and technology needs.5) Provides strategic support to clients and leaders in moderate situations.6) Leads process improvement and long term technical solution discussions and presents outcomes in written and verbal format to senior management.7) Key participant in project development surrounding new processes and the integrating of new processes with existing ones. Assists in developing communications of these changes to impacted clients and other resources.8) Performs other related duties as assigned.
','!*!Position Requirements:Knowledge: Progressive knowledge pertaining to concepts and principles in functional area. General knowledge of department/business lines, Reserve Banks, and / or System operations, policies, procedures and technologies.Communications: Strong interpersonal, negotiation, creativity, attention to detail, and oral and written communications skills tailored for the intended audience.Risk Management: The Advisor is responsible for understanding and applying risk management discipline in decision making, and contributing to his or her function’s risk management. Makes decisions when general instructions or established methods indicate action to be taken.Preferred Knowledge and Requirements: • Hands on experience with network performance monitoring and tuning • Deep comprehension of networking concepts including network design principles, data flow determination, routing and switching • Expertise with protocol analyzer and debugging tools such as Netscout and Wireshark • Hands on monitoring and troubleshooting experience with core service enabling protocols such as LDAP, DNS, DHCP etc. • Troubleshooting experience in .NET, Java and COTS applications in on-premises or Cloud (AWS and Azure)• Hands on experience with performance monitoring and troubleshooting of AIX, Linux and Windows• * Experience with one or more of the following application performance tools (e.g. Dynatrace, AppDynamics, TMart, Netscout, Splunk, etc).• * Experience with OS level monitoring tools (e.g. Perfmon, SAR, NMON).
