Summary

This AIRCRAFT PNEUDRAULIC SYSTEMS MECHANIC position, Is located in the 146th Airlift WingFuel Shopand is part of the CA 146 AW, National Guard.

NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.

MILITARY MEMBERS WITH BONUSES: Upon acceptance of a military technician position military members who are currently receiving a military Reenlistment/Extension Bonus (REB) or GI Bill-SR Kicker may lose incentive eligibility and may be subject to termination or suspension of incentive (includes indefinite and temporary technicians on assignment for more than 180 days in any continuous 12-month period).

Responsibilities

The primary purpose of the AIRCRAFT PNEUDRAULIC SYSTEMS MECHANIC, WG-8268-11, is to serve as shop chief over a small organizational segment in a maintenance function with responsibility for overall fuel shop operation.

Non-DMOS/DAFSC applicants are encouraged to apply for the positions if experience is hed. A two year compatibility waiver may be obtained.

MILITARY REQUIREMENTS:

Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership. Priority Areas(s) of Consideration:

AREA I = Current California National Guard technicians who are serving on a Permanent/Indefinite/Temporary dual status appointment.

AREA II= Current California National Guard members.

AREA III= Current military members of the Air Force/Army National Guard, Air Force/Army Reserve or Air Force/Army Active Duty. (Applicants who are currently in other Air/Army branches and NOT currently a member of the California National Guard (CNG) must become a member of a compatible unit of assignment within the Air Force CNG commensurate with the military grade listed in this announcement prior to federal assignment.)

Recruitment/Relocation Incentive MAY BE authorized, subject to National Guard Bureau approval.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Must maintain appropriate level of security clearance.

Must wear appropriate military uniform including required grooming standards.

Must maintain a compatible military unit, grade and job assignment as required by current directives.

Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.

Qualifications

General Experience: Experience or training which demonstrates your knowledge of basic electrical and mechanical principles; knowledge of troubleshooting procedures used to isolate malfunctions in aircraft pneudraulic systems; and ability to use technical manuals, equipment specifications, and test calibration procedures in performing the work.

AIRCRAFT PNEUDRAULIC SYSTEMS MECHANIC, WG-8268-11: Must have at least 18 months experience or training which provided a knowledge of basic electrical and mechanical principles. Experience in troubleshooting/repair of aircraft fuel systems, internal fuel tanks, fuel bladders, and pumps. Experience in inspection, removal, installation, adjustment and operational checks on various fuel system components such as fuel lines, valves, pumps and switches. Experience in safety, fire, security and housekeeping requirements as they apply to aircraft fuel systems repair. Experience in servicing, maintaining, disassembling/assembling, repairing and testing pneudraulic systems. Experience in diagnosing malfunctions and overhauling pneudraulic accessories by disassembling, cleaning and examining parts. Experience in repairing, rebuilding and overhauling pneudraulic systems. Experience in mechanical repairs using hand tools and test equipment. Experience that demonstrates the ability to interpret technical manuals, specifications and publications.
