MINNESOTA NATIONAL GUARD:

This position is located in the logistics section of a Brigade/Group/Troop Command of the Army National Guard (ARNG). The purpose of this position is to function as the Property Book NCO and the Assistant Logistics NCO. Under the technical direction of the Property Book Officer or senior logistics NCO, this position accomplishes work performed in the areas of property management and logistics.

This is an Excepted Service position that requires active membership in a compatible MOS in the Minnesota Army National Guard and wear of the military uniform. Responsibilities

A Supply Technician, GS-2005-06, Responsible for providing technical assistance to subordinate elements, the headquarters logistics section, and other staff sections concerning property accountability, logistics management, and maintenance management. Assists in providing proficiency training for logistical personnel within the command. Assists subordinates in the research, review, and reconstruction of supply transactions to isolate errors and provide guidance to correct deficiencies. Examines document registers, document files, suspense files, and account records to verify postings and consistency with the state level equipment status report balances. Maintains suspense file of visits, pending actions, and any other data pertaining to property accountability and reconciliation efforts. Coordinates with supported organizations to accomplish exchange of information on the status of shipments, reports, equipment, etc. Maintains applicable files, records and listings on equipment authorization, etc. Assists in researching, reporting, analyzing, coding, etc. as pertains to property management. Performs random reviews of subordinate organization expendable/durable requisitions. Assists in monitoring funds availability in accordance with regulations and the commander's priorities.Reviews current due-in status of back orders and identifies issues or problems. Prepare or reviews convoy requests and transportation requests for movement of equipment and personnel. Prepares or assists in the preparation of ammunition requests. Coordinates and assists in the receipt, issue, and turn-in of ammunition and residue. Forwards reports of ammunition usage for reconciliation. Assists in the request, issue, and turn-in of medical supplies and equipment. Individual must hold current hazardous material (HAZMAT) certification for the purpose of hazardous materials handling/reporting and enviornmental safety. May be required to coordinate with local officials, service organizations, etc., for a variety of purposes: armory security coordination with police, rental of the armory, recruting activities, and organizational participation in celebrations. May coordinate the equipment requirements to support school activities such as career days for the purpose of informing individuals and groups of the benefits of belonging to the National Guard. Performs other duties as assigned.

MILITARY COMPATIBILITY:

GENERAL EXPERIENCE:

Experience, education, or training in a variety of operations or situations concerned with substance or content of supply actions, requiring ability to decide course of action to take, considering the circumstances or conditions encountered. Experience using computer and automation systems.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:

GS-06 - Must have at least 9 months experience, education, or training which demonstrates knowledge of governing supply regulations, policies, procedures, and instructions applicable to the specific assignment. Experience conducting searches for required information; reconstruct records for routine supply transactions; and/or provide supply operations support for activities involving specialized or unique supplies, equipment, and parts. Experience performing routine aspects of supply specialist work based on practical knowledge of standard procedures, where assignments include individual case problems related to a limited segment in one of the major areas of supply management.

IAW NGR 600-25 AND AFI 36-101, grade inversion within the full-time workforce is not permitted.

Candidates will be evaluated on the basis of appropriate education, experience, training, self-development activities, and special awards. Candidates are considered on the basis of available information on their current application and supporting information that has been provided to this office. National Guard military (Part-time) service is considered as full-time experience when evaluated against the qualification requirements for a technician position.
