Responsibilities

The VA Saint Louis Health Care System is recruiting for a program Support Assistant who will also serve as the Automated Data Processing Coordinated (ADPAC) for the Nursing Telehealth Program located at the Jefferson Barracks Medical Center. The PSA will operate are a level of responsibility that requires independent actions within a broad program directives and supervisory guidelines. Duties will include, but are not limited to;

Receives and reviews software access requires for HPDP/TeleHealth. Discuss appropriations of requests with HPDP manager.

Audits all user computer menus and security keys to ensure validity in accordance with VA Directives.

Provides computer access and training on VistA mailman, CPRS, Outlook, HPDP/TeleHealth programs and PC applications software programs to HPDP/TeleHealth employees. Analyzes and implements training on software applications as needs are identified or where deficiencies exists. Trains staff on new menu options as they become available, through hands on training, composing and sending explanatory electronic mail messages and/or hard copy materials to HPDP/TeleHealth staff.

Assist with Performance Improvement activities by assisting in compiling reports and/or analyzing data to improve efficiency and productivity.

Assists with data collection for numerous QI reports related to telehealth performance measures and workload capture.

Maintain SharePoint calendar of appointments of VTC/CVT meetings, conference calls, and schedule leave as well as coordinate meetings, prepares travel papers, schedules conferences, and assist the HPDP manager and Facility TeleHealth Coordinator with administrative functions.

Prepares letters, memorandums, schedules, reports and other correspondence for the HPDP/TeleHealth managers including communication to principals within the VA.

Physical Requirements: The work is primarily sedentary, although some slight physical effort may be required. The work is performed primarily through extended use of a computer, so there are extended periods of sitting when using the computer.

Time-in-grade: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements. For a GS-07 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-06 level.

Participation in the seasonal influenza program is a condition of employment and a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP). HCP are individuals who, during the influenza season, work in VHA locations where patients receive care or who come into contact with VA patients as part of their duties. VHA locations include, but are not limited to, VA hospitals and associated clinics, community living centers (CLCs), community-based outpatient clinics (CBOCs), domiciliary units, Vet centers and VA-leased facilities. HCP include all VA licensed and unlicensed, clinical and administrative, paid and unpaid, full- and part-time employees, intermittent employees, fee basis employees, VA contractors, students, researchers, volunteers, and trainees who work at these facilities.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement (02/28/2018).

Specialized Experience - Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade (GS-06) in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: collecting and analyzing data; preparing and executing program specific information; preparing reports; preparing agenda and minutes for monthly meetings; preparing and reviewing correspondence for accuracy and completeness; developing solutions to action plans; working with data management systems and other databases applications in order to access information necessary to prepare reports; briefings, and correspondence; and operating office automation equipment and software and project management tools such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
