Job Summary:The Cloud Capacity / Data Advisor - Client Capacity is a hands-on role that contributes to the success of the Federal Reserve by ensuring that capacity is available and used at acceptable utilization levels to meet the business needs. This role collaborates very closely with performance, engineering, application, and customer teams. Applicant should have significant experience with Big Data, predictive analytics, and business intelligence / data visualization tools and techniques.
*Principal Duties and Responsibilities:• Functions as a cloud capacity planning expert • Provides high level consulting services to clients in order to evaluate, recommend, design and implement technical solutions and process improvements in areas related to information technology and focus area• Engages and builds trust with customer, application owner, and engineering to help understand future capacity needs and identify optimization opportunities. Uses data to tell a story.• Utilizes excellent verbal and written communication skills to forge strong cross-functional relationships, at all levels of the organization: leverages excellent communication and presentation skills with a customer-focused attitude• Anticipates leadership needs and is a key contributor in process improvement and long term technical solution discussions. Presents outcomes in written and verbal format to senior management and division management.• Closely partners with the finance and chargeback teams • Develops and extends vision for improving the efficiency of our cloud footprint • Recommends capacity threshold triggers• Develops scalable business intelligence solutions and utilizes tools to support capacity optimization• Identifies key capacity metrics for both cloud and non-cloud workloads• Develops and helps execute continual improvement ideologies throughout the capacity space• Provides input for specific capacity tools, metrics, queries and dashboards• Serves as a subject-matter expert on the team• Takes initiative to utilize and recommend tools, data collection processes, and data management systems• Manages multiple projects concurrently, prioritizing projects based on business impact• May provide guidance to more junior employees or act as a team lead• Performs other related duties as assigned.','!*!Position Requirements:Knowledge: Advanced knowledge pertaining to concepts and principles in functional area. General knowledge of department/business lines, Reserve Banks, and / or System operations, policies, procedures and technologies.Communications: Excellent organizational and communication skills, creativity, attention to detail (compliance), and negotiation skills to interpret results, develop communications and recommend improvements. Able to present information within all settings in a credible, confident and influential manner. Communicates in a concise, direct and purposeful way. Achieves assigned/planned results by decisions and actions based on professional methods, training, business principles, and practical experience. Preferred Requirements:• Cloud capacity expertise – AWS, Azure, Google Cloud service offerings, key performance/capacity metrics, understanding of cloud parameter limits and appropriate settings, development of risk mitigation strategies• Big Data experience – Hadoop, data mining, data modeling, scripting experience• Predictive analytics – proven ability to build data driven recommendations with actionable insights through the creation and analysis of predictive models• Data Visualization – Tableau, SAS, or similar business intelligence experience• Experience with BMC capacity tools (TrueSight CO, Best/1)• Exposure to Splunk, SAS• Experience with Tableau or equivalent BI tool with experience developing actionable dashboards• Expert level ability with MS Excel• Deep familiarity with capacity management for large, heterogeneous workloads • Ability to manage capacity in large, critical cross-organizational programs.
