(Sonny) Montgomery VA Medical Center is a Joint Commission accredited, complexity level 1B facility serving Veterans in Mississippi and parts of Louisiana. The VA Medical Center is located in Jackson, Mississippi and the outpatient clinics are located in: Hattiesburg, Meridian, Kosciusko, Greenville, Natchez, Columbus, and McComb. Steeped in southern culture, Jackson is home to a multitude of world-class painters, sculptors, dancers, actors, architects, photographers, filmmakers, musicians, and artisans of many disciplines. The city pulses with music from classical to inspirational, home-grown gospel, blues, jazz, rock 'n roll, R&B and more that can be found all around town. Duties Duties for the position of Physician (Neurosurgeon) include the following:\u00b7 Responsible for providing inpatient and outpatient neurosurgical care to adult patients and will coordinate referrals to appropriate community providers and\/or facilities. \u00b7 Ensure the provision of care to all neurosurgical patients directly or by consultation. \u00b7 Must possess sufficient clinical knowledge and experience to provide competent clinical and institutional standards of care, and must also have good interpersonal skills to deal harmoniously with staff, patients and family members. \u00b7 The successful candidates will be responsible for providing inpatient and outpatient neurosurgical care to adult patients and will coordinate referrals to appropriate community providers and\/or facilities. \u00b7 The physician will ensure the provision of care to all neurosurgical patients directly of and by consultation. \u00b7 The successful candidate must possess sufficient clinical knowledge and experience to provide competent clinical and institutional standards of care, and must also have good interpersonal skills to deal harmoniously with staff, patients and family members. \u00b7 The candidates must also demonstrate significant and distinguishing accomplishments in teaching, clinical research, and clinical practice. \u00b7 Performs other duties as assigned by the Section Chief of Surgery.
