Organizational Location:

This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO); Assistant Director for Enforcement, Criminal Alien Division (CAD), Duty Location: Washington, DC.

This is a non-bargaining unit position.

Relocation expenses are authorized.

You will serve as the Deputy Assistant Director. Within the broad framework of policies and program objectives prescribed by the Division Director and Director of Enforcement and Removal Operations, you will be responsible for planning, managing and directing all phases of the division which assigned. Specifically, you will: Provide administrative and human resource management functions relative to staff supervised;

Provide expert advice and guidance on broad projects and programs with national impact requiring extensive interpretation for many different and unrelated program processes and methods, such as interpretations of original legislative or judicial intent and advice on revisions to existing policies and programs;

Recommend long-range program plans, goals, and objectives and consult with all levels of management, other federal agencies, and with foreign and commercial organizations;

Direct, coordinate, and oversee the work of your assigned unit relating to all enforcement, detention, and removal mission activity along with budget and personnel functions and property accountability; and

Perform administrative and technical supervision necessary for accomplishing work of the unit (i.e. make decisions on work problems presented by staff; observe worker's performance; demonstrate and conduct work performance critiques; provide informal feedback and periodically evaluate employee performance; resolve informal complaints and grievances; recommend personnel actions as necessary).
