Substance Abuse Prevention and Control (SAPC) is seeking a highly motivated and well-qualified individual to fill the Senior Clinical Social Worker position, which will provide support to the Office of the Clinical Services and Research Branch in the Quality Improvement and Utilization Management Unit. This position will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of SAPC staff to review clinical cases seen by SAPC's network of SUD providers. This item will also utilize his/her clinical experience and skills in a collaborative process to evaluate and facilitate appropriate healthcare services and referrals for patients undergoing SUD treatment. The Senior Clinical Social Worker position will not be providing direct clinical care.
This vacancy is located on The Alhambra - An Urban Community campus ( ****).

Essential Job Functions
Utilize clinical experience and skills in a collaborative process with a multidisciplinary team of staff and providers to evaluate and facilitate appropriate healthcare services for patients receiving SUD treatment, particularly involving coordination of care, linkage with necessary services, and integration of care across health systems.
Gather clinical information through chart reviews and other means, and apply appropriate clinical judgment to ensure that the substance use disorder (SUD) treatment being delivered by the network of SAPC providers meets eligibility and medical necessity requirements, meets generally accepted standards of practice, is evidence-based/quality-focused/appropriate, and that care resources are managed appropriately.
Provide consultation and information to clients, stakeholders, internal and external departmental professionals, contract providers, and administrative personnel about available community resources to help coordinate and integrate health care.
Develops and utilizes resources of public and private agencies and community organizations to meet the needs of the patients.
Provide clinical expertise and feedback regarding the development, implementation, and management of the Quality Improvement and Utilization Management (QI & UM) and Clinical Standards and Training (CST) programs.
Work collaboratively with the QI & UM team to evaluate provider interventions and client response to SUD treatment.
Work collaboratively with the CST team to identify, improve, implement, and evaluate processes related to clinical standards and necessary training.
Work collaboratively with staff involved with data management to promote data-driven and quality care at the program and provider level.
Identify opportunities to promote quality and effectiveness of healthcare services and benefit utilization.
Participate in professional committees, meetings, and conferences, as assigned, including but not limited to topics concerning SUD standards of treatment, quality, utilization management, care coordination, training, policies, procedures, and data collection.
Participates in social work student affiliate programs for training professional social work students through case assignments and technical instructions.
Follow established policies and procedures within their scope of practice.
Comply with licensing and accreditation standards and other regulatory requirements. Interprets and supports standards and requirements to others.
Conduct self-assessment of performance and identifies own learning needs.
Complete other assignments, as assigned.
Requirements
Must currently be a permanent Los Angeles County employee who holds the payroll item of Senior Clinical Social Worker
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
A Master's Degree in Social Work* from a graduate school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education - AND -
three (3) years of clinical social work experience.
An active and valid license as a Licensed Social Worker issued by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.
