The Twelfth District Business Relationship Management team within the information & Technology Services division, serves as a strategic partner at the intersection of local/national service providers and business initiatives. Each business line has a dedicated partner which understands the needs of the business and provides guidance in shaping demand to achieve strategic goals. The Business Relationship team fosters productive relationships with service providers and vendors to ensure future service offerings anticipate business need to maximize value. The Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco is searching for a highly skilled business relationship manager for the Financial Institution Supervision and Credit business lines.

Responsibilities:

Strategic partner for 2-3 business partners and is consulted in key business capability-enabling initiatives.

Assists other business relationship managers as needed.

Business relationship manager responsible for the collection, analysis, review, documentation, and communication of business needs and requirements to IT.

Provide demand estimates to National Business Relationship Management to forecast National IT services.

Leads the gathering of business needs as well as the design of solutions through direct interaction with business unit leaders.

Leads the initial technical assessment of a business solution, taking into account potential return on investment, value added, cost/benefit, risks and fit with IT standards and architecture.  

Has a strong understanding of information systems, business processes, the key drivers and measures of success for the business, and the short- and long-term direction of the business and technology.

Focuses on continuous improvement, assisting with the development of metrics and processes within IT and the business organizations.

Communicates the direction of the business partners they support to local and National IT staff through meetings or information sharing events.

Identifies, proposes and influences business solutions, and negotiates deliverables and requirements.

Ensures that the design and integration of proposed system software and hardware solutions leads to the development and growth of the business through effective use of technology.

Possesses strong project management skills and the ability to lead complex cross-functional projects.

Integrally involved in buy vs. build decisions.

Represent the District in System workgroups for business relationship management and as requested by business partners or executive management.

Demonstrates an in depth knowledge of a business area in the context of the business client’s unit to identify and communicates how IT solutions can assist reaching the business goals.

Supports one or more highly complex business processes, requiring design or integration of technical solutions that may cross multiple functions of the business.

Serves as a project team member or team lead.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in related field, specialized training or equivalent work experience.

Typically requires 12-15 years of relevant technical or business work experience in business relationship management.

Ability to partner with all levels of personnel.

Strong verbal communications and negotiation capabilities.

Excellent formal written communications skills.

Superb attention to detail.

Good analytical and technical skills in related field.

The successful candidate must be a U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, or hold a permanent resident status/ green card with intent to become a U.S. Citizen.

Preferred:

Business Relationship Management Professional and/or Certified Business Relationship Manager certifications strongly preferred.

Desirable: Examiner Commission, Certified Scrum Product Owner, SAFR, BISP, SOX and/or FISMA experience.
