Programmer Analyst Jobs
A programmer analyst job involves developments in the computer industry through trade and vendor publications, professional seminars or corporate sponsored training. A programmer analyst creates applications in support of wide variety of administrative functions including contracts and grants, recharge operations, human resources (staff and academic), payroll, undergraduate affairs and graduate affairs; designs and analyzes data acquisition, storage environments and associated processes; supports operational systems and associated data including knowledge of the languages, operating systems, and systems environments; and ensures data management and distribution. A programmer analyst remains current on the latest developments in the computer industry through trade and vendor publications, professional seminars or corporate sponsored training. A programmer analyst ensures developments and modifications made to the software comply with the needs and requirements; provides support to other team members in analysis, programming, design, debugging; and provides access to company information through development of reports, queries, and tools.
A programmer analyst requires a bachelor’s degree along with 2+ years of experience in hands-on programming high level languages. A programmer analyst should have good communication skills (verbal and written) including ability to elicit information from and respond clearly too unsophisticated users and ability to maintain clear and concise user and technical documentation. The programmer analyst must have ability to work independently with a strong ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines in a high production environment with rapidly changing work requirements, strong analytical skills, with the ability to think logically.
