Job Title

Electric Utility Director, City Of Vero Beach. Job

Job Profile
The City is seeking a dynamic, long-term, strategically minded, and customer focused director to be the chief operating officer for the City of Vero Beach municipal electrical engineering, power generation, transmission/distribution services.
This Position reports directly to and serves at the pleasure of the City Manager.(population 18,160. 33,811 electric customers in the service district)
Minimum qualifications include graduation from a four (4) year accredited college or university, with a Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent, in electrical and/or mechanical engineering. Seven (7) years full-time employment directing the operations of an electrical utility or equivalent. PE in the State of Florida or ability to obtain one within one year of appointment. Strong managerial, technical writing, presentation and planning/organizational skills a must.

A Master’s Degree in engineering, management, or public administration is desired. Experience directing the activities of a municipal electric utility in a Union environment, experience in such operations in the State of Florida, and hurricane/disaster recovery experience are very strongly preferred.
The anticipated hiring range is $110,000 to $130,000 DOQ.
